Nostalgic Reunion concert in Lyons

The mellow sounds of Nostalgic Reunion, known in music circles as 'the small band with the big band sound,' will be in Lyons Sunday.

The group is comprised of a vocalist, four saxes (two altos, a tenor, and a baritone), drums, bass and keyboard.

Nostalgic Reunion will perform Sunday, February 17 at 3 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church. This is the first concert in the 2002 Lenten Concert series.

Nostalgic Reunion is based in the Rochester area and has performed throughout the region. They have played at several area festivals, including Fairport Canal Days, Pittsford Colonial Days and Spencerport Canal Days. The band also plays at wedding receptions, reunions, and other celebrations. All their music has been arranged by band member, Leo Pontes.

The concert will be about an hour long and a 'meet the artist' reception will follow, hosted by Gary Herrmann of Lyons.

The church, located on the corner of Queen and Broad Streets, is handicapped accessible. Freewill donations will be gladly received. Pastor Cynthia may be reached at the church at 946.4723.
