Williamson Lumber changes hands

Dick and June Bliek, owners of Williamson Lumber and Home Center, have announced the sale of their business to Richard and Helen Mallory of Fairport, effective February 11.

Dick Bliek has been associated with the business since 1960. He hads decided to 'officially' retire, but will play a consulting role in the future. Williamson Lumber has operated in Williamson since the 1920's.

Richard Mallory has over 20 years experience in the building products industry with Georgia Pacific, CertainTeed, Carlisle and Beacon Roofing Supply Inc. He has a BS degree in management from St. John Fisher College and is a native of Penfield.

Mallory said, 'The combination of Williamson's reputation, the employees' knowledge and experience, and the opportunity to expand our product offering, made this an attractive business to us.'

All current employees will be retained and both parties anticipate a smooth transition in ownership. The business name will change to Williamson Building Supply LLC and will retain the same address and phone number.

Williamson Building Supply LLC is a full-service building materials business catering to the remodeling and building needs of Wayne County and Eastern Monroe County.
