Williamson Breakfast benefits Barber Scholarship

A 'Hotcake and Sausage Breakfast' will be held on Sunday, January 20 at the Williamson McDonald's to benefit the Timothy L. Barber Memorial Scholarship Fund. Tim was an employee at McDonald's in Williamson and as a tribute to him, McDonald's has sponsored the breakfast each year since his death.

The Scholarship Fund was established by Wayne Action for Racial Equality (WARE), a group in which Tim was actively involved. The fund provides scholarships to two Wayne County seniors who, like Tim, have worked toward achieving racial equality and are active in school, church and the community.

The pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. on January 20. Hotcakes, sausage, coffee or milk, juice and cookies will be served. Tickets are $4.50 for adults and $3 for children under 10 years old. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at the Williamson Come-Unity Center on Main Street in Williamson or by calling 483.4092.
