Marion supervisor steps down Being Supervisor was rewarding - Now that my career as Town Supervisor has drawn to a close, I would like you to know how much I have enjoyed working in this position. Through the years, I have met so many wonderful people, not only in our town but throughout the county. I owe my gratitude to my family for their support and understanding through good times and bad; there were certainly times that I must have tried their patience when I was unduly stressed. To my co-workers, many thanks for the years of friendship and assistance; you were always there when I needed advice or when I was busy with paperwork and looked to you for help. I am proud of the accomplishments achieved over these past ten years, and to my successor, Jody Bender and the new Town Board members, I wish you well and hope that you will enjoy the satisfaction that comes with public service. It is truly a rewarding experience, even with the ups and downs that are bound to occur. Believe me, the good times far outweigh the bad. I have been pleased to discover that both the local and county government workers have the people's best interests in mind when they make their decisions, this is true of the majority of them, and they work hard to do their best. So, I look forward to spending more time with my family, and to have the opportunity to enjoy my leisure time traveling, reading, and gardening. However, I will continue to follow the events of the governments with great interest, but with a better appreciation of the difficult decisions to be made. Many thanks to you to all, Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
