TIC dinner in Newark

The 22nd annual T.I.C. (Together In Christ) turkey dinner will be held on Wednesday, January 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Park Presbyterian Church, Newark.

The speaker will be Dennis E. Boike, Ph. D, Marriage and Family Therapist Consultant to Industry & Education. He will speak on 'How Positive Thinking Affects Physical and Emotional Health.'

Almost every minute of your conscious life you are engaged in 'self-talk,' giving yourself positive or negative evaluations about what's happening around you. If the self-talk is accurate and realistic, you function and perform well; if it is negative, irrational and pessimistic you'll experience physical and emotional stress and function less than 100%. This presentation will highlight how to think more positively and how to take on the characteristics of a winning, and healthy, life-style. It will also deal with how to use positive thinking to help you and your loved ones heal from past trauma.

Tickets are $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children age 10 and under; available at T.I.C. church offices.
