Historical Society seeks help with project Andrea Evangelist, Executive Directory of the Wayne County Historical Society, is working on a new fundraising project to benefit the Society and the town historical societies. Wayne County Memories: A Gathering of Reminiscences and Photographs of the People and Places of Wayne County, New York, is being compiled and will be warm with personal reminiscences and contain pictures that will capture the last 100 years of history of Wayne County. Sections of the book include one for each of the decades between 1900 and 2000, and others titled Views of the Fifteen Towns, Government and Politics, School Days, Occupations and Industry, People and Pastimes, The Canal, and Trains, Trolleys, and Transportation. Evangelist is looking for someone from each of the fifteen towns to help with this project in their area. She is also asking people to loan or donate pictures, along with their written recollections that go with the pictures. Call the Society at 946.4943, Tuesday-Friday from 10-noon and 12:30 to 4.
