Literacy Volunteers needs tutors

learn more Have you ever wondered what you can do to help others or to improve your community? Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County is currently seeking individuals to work one-to-one or in a small group to provide instruction to adults who wish to improve their reading skills.

All it takes is the successful completion of LV Wayne's Literacy Tutor Workshop, some commitment, and a couple of hours each week.

LV Wayne will be offering a workshop for new tutors on the Saturdays of February 23, March 2 and 9, (from 9 to 3) at the Wayne County Action Program facilities on Montezuma St., Lyons. The workshop is free, although it is recommended participants purchase Literacy Volunteers of America's tutoring guide at a cost of $15.

LV Wayne presently has many people waiting for Tutors in all areas of the county.

For information on becoming a certified LV Tutor, please call Sandy Scheibel at 946.5333.
