Newark native promoted at Buckeye Tech

Buckeye Technologies Inc. (NYSE:BKI) announced the election of a new officer.

Frederick 'Fritz' Ring was elected Vice President, Purchasing & Logistics, and will have responsibility for global purchasing and logistics.

He received his Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ring has 20 years of experience in supply chain management.

Buckeye, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty cellulose and absorbent products, is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. The Company has facilities in the United States, Germany, Canada, Ireland and Brazil. Its products are sold worldwide to makers of consumer and industrial goods.

Ring is a 1974 graduate of Newark High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Business Administration in 1983 from Rochester Institute of Technology and in 1986 graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Masters in Business Administration.

He and his wife Lynne (Waldorf) live in Collierville, outside of Memphis. They have four children: Fritz Jr. and wife Tammy (Canandaigua); Justin (Naperville, IL); Collin and Nathan.

His parents are Roger and Marilyn Bundschuh of Newark and his mother-in-law is Irene Waldorf of Newark.
