learn more! Arcadia Trails Group meets, makes plans

The newly-formed Arcadia Trails Group met last Tuesday (June 26) at the Marbletown Fire Hall. The group had their first informational meeting hoping to attract people interested in forming new trails within the town.

Eleven people with interests and concerns attended the meeting. Gary and Deb Carlson expressed concern about the trails along the canal banning off-road motorcycle activity. Their son, who is an accomplished off-roader, uses these pathways for practice. The Trails Group said this matter would be best handled by contacting the Wayne County Planning Department.

Others were interested in the connectivity of the trails and seemed enthusiastic about creating new trails.

The Arcadia Trails Group intends to connect the Ontario Trailways to the Erie Canal Trails (through the Village of Newark) and to the Seaway Trail at Lake Ontario.

For information on the new group, contact Tom Chappell at 331.0478, Jim Weiler at 331.4747 or Tony Comella at 331.6742.
