Jack-in-the-Pulpit - The state flower of Maryland. Shortly after being named the designation was challenged by atheist groups who sued to have it removed on the constitutional grounds that its selection promoted religion. Isabelle Bushart had a surprise visit from long-time friends, Mr. and Mrs. Clement Burke from Santa Fe, New Mexico, who are travelling across the United States. A recipe I just love is the one called Blue Cheese Biscuits. Easy and delicious. 1 pkg. refrigerated biscuits, 1/4 cup butter, 3 T. crumbly bleu cheese. Cut biscuits into quarters. Arrange in glass pie plate. Melt butter and cheese together. Pour over biscuits. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve with toothpicks. We wish to thank the staff of the Marion Postal Service for another excellent food drive. They collected close to 1000 lbs. of food, which is much needed in the community. Their spirit and generosity of time is appreciated. We would also like to thank the community as a whole for their spirit of giving.
