Contest photos on display in Lyons

The Wayne County Tourism Photo Contest has received entries depicting a variety of fun and interesting activities in Wayne County. The photos will be on exhibit at the Erie Canal Cultural Center, 165 Water St, Lyons, beginning today (July 8) to August 8. The exhibit will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit will then move to the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

The awards ceremony will be held during the Wayne County Fair, August 12 - August 17. The date, time and location of the awards ceremony will be announced at a later date.

Photo subjects range from historical sites, farms scenes, beautiful landscapes, sunrises and sunsets, to wildlife, lighthouses and the Erie Canal. As you view each photo, you will be amazed at how each of us interpret the same location so differently. You will be astounded by the beauty here in Wayne County between the Locks and the Great Lake Ontario.

Thanks to the many participants. The photos will be used in the promotion of Wayne County and to introduce visitors and the community to many new and exciting places.
