Storyteller at Lyons Library

learn more Lyons Public Library will be hosting actress/storyteller/playwright, Gretchen Murray Sepik, this Friday, July 19 at 1 p.m..

Gretchen will present a theatrical characterization of much-loved children's illustrator and author, Beatrix Potter. Gretchen will narrate two of Ms. Potter's books including, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and The Tale of Mrs. Tittle Mouse.

Sepik majored in dance at Point Park College in Pittsburgh where she also studied acting. She has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic's 'Phil Revue' with mime troupe, Flash in the Pan. Gretchen also studied and worked with Garth Fagan Dance. She is co-founder of the Flight of Fancy Experimental Theatre and is part of Young Audiences Rochester, Inc. and Young Audiences Buffalo.

Gretchen portrays several other characters besides Beatrix Potter. The characterizations include Naomi Brown from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Mary Jemison known as the White Woman of the Genesee, Sal McMurray, a packet boat cook on the Erie Canal and Susan B. Anthony, women's rights activist.

This program is free and open to the public. The entire family is encouraged to come and enjoy the show.
