New pastor in Lyons

Members and friends of Lyons United Methodist Church welcomed the Rev. Cassandra L. Salter-Smith at its new pastor during the Sunday service July 7 and during the special coffee hour which followed.

Also welcomed were her husband, Marvin, and children, CJ and Christal.

The Rev. Salter-Smith, a Buffalo native, has taught Christian Education courses for the Pastoral and Church Ministries Program, which is a community-based educational program for pastoral and lay ministry, at Houghton College for nine years. She also recently served as Western New York Conference Rochester District Community Minister.
