County Fair recipe contest

Heluva Good Cheese of Sodus will sponsor a recipe contest on Thursday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wayne County Fairgrounds.

Contestants of all ages can compete in hors d'oeuvres, main entree and dessert categories for the $100 first prize ($50 cash and $50 gift certificate). The top three winners in each category will receive cash or gift certificate to the Heluva Good Cheese Country Store.

There is also a 14-and-under category where contestants will compete for a $50 savings bond and Wal-Mart gift certificates.

There will not be an entry fee and the competition is open to anyone who is not a Heluva Good Cheese employee. Entries must contain at least one Heluva Good Cheese product. After the competition, entries will be priced and sold with proceeds going towards Fair renovations.

Heluva Good Cheese, Inc. was founded in 1925 and employs more than 100 people. Corporate offices, a sales division and retail store are located in Sodus.
