Blood drives planned

The American Red Cross Blood Services, New York-Penn Region is calling for eligible current and new donors to give blood to help avoid a serious blood supply shortage.

• Saturday, June 1, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. - St. John's Episcopal Church, Main Street, Sodus sponsored by Sodus Rotary Club
• Monday, June 3, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. - North Rose-Wolcott High School co-sponsored by NR Lions Club and Interact Club
• Monday, June 3, 2 p.m.-7 p.m. - Macedon Fire Dept. Canal Park, Macedon sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary Unit 494
• Monday, June 10, 2 p.m.-7 p.m. - Western Presbyterian Church, 101 E. Main St., Palmyra sponsored by Palmyra Rotary Club
• Tuesday, June 11, 2 p.m.-7 p.m. - Marion American Legion, Witherden Road, Marion sponsored by American Legion
• Saturday, June 22, 9 a.m. -2 p.m. - Wolcott Ambulance, 5841 New Hartford Street, Wolcott
• Monday, June 24, 2 p.m.-7 p.m. - Lyons VFW Post, Lyons sponsored by VFW Auxiliary

All blood types are needed and donors are urged to call Wayne County Red Cross 331.3783 to schedule an appointment for any of the above drives. Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pound may be eligible to give blood.
