Saturday, June 8 from 9 to 2, a car wash and bake sale will be held at the Second Reformed Church parking lot to benefit the Bahamas mission trip. $5 suggested donation for the car wash.
Another flooded basement! When will they replace the small broken tiles that were 'planted' on Union Street before all of the homes were built there?
James Ververs of Hannibal has been named Valedictorian of his class. Jim is the grandson of Pearl and Henry Ververs of Marion Road. Jim will attend the University of Rochester beginning in August.

The Red Cross is having a blood drive at the American Legion Post home on Tuesday, June 18.

June 11, 1925: Clifford Topping and Helen VanOverbeek closed their school, district no. 10 by each holding a picnic last Thursday. Miss Overbeek's pupils gathered at her home, while Mr. Topping's were on the school grounds.
Happy Birthday to Bea Schultz on June 9, from all her friends!

SPORTS WRAP-UP
Boys track team finished 2nd in the class CC Sectional meet. Two relays and four individuals are Section 5 champs.
The tennis team began its Sectional run with a 4-1 home victory over Cal-Mum. Season record is 11 and 2.
The girls track team did a great job at Sectionals, scoring 132.5 points, finishing 2nd. There were several personal bests. Mary Boerman is a Sectional champion in the 800. Marion had seven 2nd places; seven thirds; two fourths; eight fifth places and two sixths.
The boys track team completed a 6-1 season with a 115-26 win over Gananda. Kyle McClinton, Brad Howe, Matt Nortier and Ron Zalone were double winners as the 'Orange Express' won 14 of 17 events.
Also congratulations to eight members of the team who qualified to compete at the State Qualifier meet at Rush-Henrietta: Josh Crocker, Craig Dolecki, Ron Zalone, David Barber, Kyle McClinton, Matt Nortier, Tim Moran and Derek Hasbrouck.
Congratulations to the grades 7-12 Marion Bands and Color Guard for their performances at the Seneca Falls band pageant. High School Jazz took first place, class B; Junior High Concert, 1st place, junior high class B; Concert Band, 3rd place, class B; Wind Ensemble, 1st place, class A; Parade, 1st place, class B.
