Newark festival fun

Newarkfest and St. Michael's Parish Festival were both blessed with beautiful weather this past weekend.

And there was plenty for everyone to see, hear and do.

The Newark Library's 5k Run, the Wayne County Motorcycle Club's Poker Run, ballet in Central Park, Latin music in the park bandstand.

Newark festival fun Holly Burgess of Newark won a gift certificate package from the Park Presbyterian Church. A 2nd drawing at the church was for a CharBroil gas grill an assorted breads gift basket from Montana Mills. That raffle was won by the Courier-Gazette's own Jim Miranda (who took some of the photos you see here.)

Jim McBride, owner of the Newark Diner, took home some cash from the St. Michael's raffle, but no word yet on the winners of the Hawaii trip. For that news, other follow-ups and more photos, pick up Friday's print edition of the Courier-Gazette.

(Editor's note: And who won the 'Grill to Go' raffled by the Arcadia Democrats? Yours truly. Donna Comella.)
