The Newark baseball program banquet was held Saturday at the American Legion.

Varsity Coach Mike McGavisk gave the Scholar Athlete awards to Justin Kraham, Coty Calviera, Bryan Tilburg and Nick Brumm. A special Academic Plaque was given to Nick DeRue for the highest academic average. He also won Most Improved award. DeRue was voted second team all league.

The Sportsmanship award went to Zach DeSain. The Best Offensive player is Shawn Mizro, First Team All League selection who batted .439 on the year. The Best Defensive player is Nick Brumm.

Senior awards were given to Justin Kraham and Zach DeSain.

The Coach's Award went to Justin Kraham, Second Team All League. He also won the honor that bears his late father's name, the Michael W. Kraham Memorial Award.

award winners Modified Coach Chris Hager's team finished the year 5-3. Six of the regular season games were cancelled due to bad weather. The Best Defensive player award went to Brett DeJohn and Best Offensive player to Brandon Prinzi. The Coach's award went to Aaron Kraham and Most Improved to Kyle Boeckmann.

JV Scholar Athlete awards went to Dan Prong and Jared Hyatt. The Sportsmanship Award was given to Darrin Barry. The Most Improved was Nick Sued, while Brett Salerno won Most Desire and Steve Townsend won the Coach's Award.
