Happenings Friends of Milda Crayton are invited to an 'Open House' at the home of her daughter, Gerry Dekdebrun, on Sunday, June 23, in celebration of Milda's 90th birthday. The occasion, planned by her family, will be held from 1 to 4. 'Does anyone know where I can purchase Muscat Raisins for my Sour Cream Raisin Pie?' Joan Bornstein and her family from Tappan spent time with her mother, Mil Leenhouts of Union St. A DADS and GRADS reception will be held at the United Church on June 16 following the worship service. The Red Cross is having a blood drive at the American Legion Post on Witherden Rd., on Tuesday, June 18. Hilda DeLue has been transferred to the Wayne County Nursing Home for rehabilitation. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Kiss Me Kate. They put on a marvelous performance at the Stars of Tomorrow Ceremony in Rochester. Marion's stage crew won the crew award; Kyle Haak won the individual award for Leading Actor. Last week there were three groups of interested, well-behaved students from the Marion Elementary School, who came to visit their Marion Museum. They toured the four rooms and asked many thoughtful questions. The teachers who accompanied them were Mrs. Wilbor, Williams and Dick. I have received many delightful 'Thank You's' like this one: Dear Mrs. Adriaansen, Thank you for letting us come to the museum. It was great! Here are some of the things I liked. I liked when you told us when people were bad they had to sit in the corner with a dunce hat on! Also I liked the old fashioned purse, they always dressed up back then. But the think I liked the most was the old washing thingy. Marion school friends gathered at Canaltown Restaurant for lunch while Elmer and Violet Overslaw were visiting from Texas. Happy 48th Wedding Anniversary Wishes on June 18 to Stan and Isabelle Bushart. June 16: Sixth grade graduation - 7 p.m. June 13, 1935: Both canning factories began work on rhubarb last week. Sports - girls modified softball team lost to NRW. All the ladies played well, and it was a great season. Competing at the Meet of Champions were Mary Boerman, Megan DePoint and Jessica Grass. Congratulations to the boys 4x400 relay team which is going to compete at States. At Rush-Henrietta (June 2) the boys relay team 4x400 of Tim Moran, Kyle McClinton, Dave Barber and Craig Dolecki won their race. The time of 3:30.38 is a new Marion school record. Other times: Matt Nortier ran a school record 4:27.59 in the 1500 meter run. McClinton ran 2:02.41 in the 800m. The 4x100 ran the second fastest time at Marion.
