Arcadia Trails Group forms; seeks volunteers

The newly formed Arcadia Trails Group intends to connect the Ontario Trailways to the Erie Canal Trails (through the Village of Newark) and to the Seaway Trail at Lake Ontario.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities with the trail group, please attend the informational meeting at the Marbletown Fire Hall on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m.

'Hike two miles and call me in the morning.' The theme for National Trails Day 2002 is 'Trails for Health,' because when you hike or volunteer on a trail, you are not only performing a good deed for the environment, you are also improving your health. Hiking regularly can lower your blood pressure and cholesterol, reduce chances of heart disease and cancer and lower stress levels.

Year 2002 marks the 10th anniversary of National Trails Day. Ten years of celebrating, building, maintaining and recognizing trails in America.
