Dick Murphy has been moved to the DeMay Living Center for rehabilitation. June 18, 1925: Marion Fire Dept. was called out about half past ten, Sunday morning. The two large barns on the Wayne Witherden farm, northeast of Marion were burned to the ground. The wind changed, so the house was saved, but it was badly scorched. Marge Smith has returned to her Palmyra Road home. Isabelle Bushart tells me that there's still room on some of her bus trips. August 1 is the trip to Portville-Warren to visit the Blair outlet and Blair retail store, Sprague's in Portville for a maple sugaring demonstration, and a fabulous turkey dinner. Don't forget the Myrtle Beach extravaganza, September 8-14. The hotel is overlooking the water, a visit to Barefoot Landing, a tour of Charleston, The Dixie Stampede, Carolina Opry and more! Our family wishes to extend our deepest sympathy to the Haskins family, our friends and neighbors of 49 years, with the recent passing of their brother, Scott. In past months they have lost their mother and father, Ruth and Budd, and now, Scott. He was an energetic youngster and, in later years, a hard worker.
