Missing Sodus

Happy First Day of Summer!

Summer Vacation has already begun for the children in Sodus. There will be some fun things to do so no one is bored during the next two months. (Sarah has begun her vacation already. She thinks the dog days are all day, every day and she began last week.)

The Libraries have really good programs planned for you. The Reading Program kicks off at the Williamson Library on June 24. Sign up early for a chance to win a Splish Splash tee shirt.

On Saturday (June 22) head out to the Sodus Point Fire Hall anytime from l0 to 4 to get the car washed.

There are new displays to see at the old Sodus Point Lighthouse. The Summer Season begins on July 4th with a concert. Gap Mangione will be playing. The afternoon concerts are on Sundays at the gazebo on the lawn, the concerts are free and there will be great hots and sausage served.

The last week of school the First and Second Graders filled in some of the time with fun field trips. Monday, the first graders went to the Seneca Park Zoo and Tuesday, the second graders went to the Fair Haven State Park.

Next Thursday, the Sodus Point Firemen begin the Carnival on the Bay. The ride matinee is Thursday night from 6 to 10, and the Firemen's Parade is Friday at 7. The fireworks are Saturday night, and there's more fun planned for Sunday, including a band from 1 to 4.

Sodus Point is also gearing up for its Movies at Sunset this summer at the ball field. You can see dates and more at the website.

The Williamson Alumni picnic is planned for July 13. Let me know if you're planning a reunion - school or family. We'll be sure to include it.

Everyone have fun during the nice days of summer. Please let me know what you're up to. Write to me at

Keep me up on what I'm missing. (I know it's a lot.)
