ViaHealth Golf tourney results

ViaHealth of Wayne Foundation held its 11th Annual Golf Tournament June 10 at Wayne Hills Country Club and Newark Country Club. The tournament grossed $30,900 with a net profit of $14,621.

The four-person scramble was played at Newark Country Club with 46 golfers in attendance.

The winners were Jim Zappia, Richard 'Ernie' Evangelist, Frank Zappia, and Jim Tiberio. (click on photo to view larger image).

Second place - C.J. Britt, Steve Felker, Bob Brisky, and Bob McFadden; and

third place winners were Ed Schultz, Gary Chittenden, Glenn Stell and Paul Murphy. (click on photo to view larger image)

The Closest to the Pin winner was C.J. Britt. Winners of the Longest Drive contest were Steve Felker for Men's and Debbie Fairbanks for Women's categories.

A four-person best ball format was played at Wayne Hills Country Club with 89 golfers in attendance.

The winners were Gregg Bryant, Steve McGlynn, John Olson and Bob Fountain. Second place winners were Jerry Eighmy, Drew Hoffman and Eric Neumeier. Third place winners were Charlie Hallagan, Kay Hallagan, Rod Graybill and Judy Graybill. Winners of the Closest to the Pin competition were Barb Wagner for Womens and Tom McUmber for Mens. Longest Drive winners were Pat Havrilla for Womens and Steve Capello for Mens.

Concord Ford Lincoln Mercury of Newark sponsored a Hole-in-One contest for a 2002 Sable LS, which remained unclaimed. Doug LeConey was the winner of the raffle for two round-trip tickets to anywhere in the continental United States, which were donated by Parker Hannifin's RAC Division.

A new special Silent Auction was held for the two watercolor paintings 'Two Golfers on Number 5' and 'Roses in Vase' - donated by the artist, Dr. Hwang Nam Chang, a local Newark internist.
