Ohmann named Man of Faith

On Sunday (June 23), the First Presbyterian Church of Lyons honored the 2002 Man of Faith - Myron Ohmann. The Rev. Cynthia Huling Hummel, pastor of the church, presented the award during the service of worship.

'We are blessed by Myron Ohmann and by the many ways he has served our church and community over the years. He exemplifies what it means to be a man of faith. He is an inspiration to all of us and I am honored and delighted to recognize him today and to give thanks to God for him.'

Ohmann has served as both an elder and a deacon. He taught Sunday School for many, many years. He was baptised at First Presbyterian on May 9, 1918 by the Rev. Luther Ostrander and was confirmed in 1929 when the Rev. Albert Thomas was the pastor at the church. Myron Ohmann has been a faithful member of the church for 73 years. He resides in Lyons with his wife, Kay.
