Fuel tanks removed in south end Newark

About 80 years ago there was a service station/dealership at Newark's South End, corner of South Main and West Maple Avenue.

An old 'Classified Business Directory' lists Swartele's Garage, 705 South Main, under Autos, Parts, Gas.

Early this week, S.A.W. Environmental Services of Fairport supervised the removal of these two fuel storage tanks from under the blacktop parking lot at Bodine's and the liquor store.
