Happenings All You Can Eat! Pancake Breakfast & Next to New Sale will be held on Sunday, March 17, at the Masonic Temple (for the Eastern Star) on North Main St., from 8:30 to 1. Cost is $3.75 per person, children under 5 free. Breakfast includes: pancakes, eggs, sausage and beverage. Let me know if you would like to order daffodils from the American Cancer Society. 'A good cause.' There will be a 'Soup Supper' at the Second Reformed Church on Mill Street, March 11, from 4:30-7. The supper features: Soups (Vegetable Beef, Chili, Chicken & Rice and Broccoli Cheese), rolls & butter and homemade pies. All you can eat! Donations are greatly appreciated. Proceeds to benefit Youth Foreign Mission Trip. The goal for the Blanket Sunday at the United Church exceeded their goal. $275 was collected so 55 blankets will be purchased for needy victims. The afternoon Women's Guild meeting at the United Church was held on February 19 at the home of Jeanette Stubenrod. The evening Women's Guild Circle met on February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Bev Meyer. March 4 is the date of the Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the United Church. Ray VanLare underwent a successful procedure to open a blocked esophagus and is feeling much better now. Milda Crayton is home following a hospital stay. Lisa Levan is recovering from surgery. March 5 - Earth Shuttle Candy will be delivered. Marion High School Musical 'Kiss Me Kate' is planned for 8 p.m. on March 8, and 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the high school. March 2, 1922: Pupils of Marion High School are selling garden seeds to raise money for the purchase of Walter Camp Records for physical training for use in school. Doug and Jeanette Wessie have returned from a wonderful trip to Aruba. They were in a group of 90 persons, who enjoyed the 80-degree weather and the cooling breezes. They explored the island and spent an evening on a catamaran for a dinner cruise. They enjoyed a treat of decorated cakes with luscious fillings. Pretty trees, flowering bushes and cactus everywhere.
