Runaway truck smashes into Newark home

Sometime after 8 a.m. Monday, a runaway D&L Disposal garbage truck rolled down an incline and crashed into a house. Owned by Lois and Larry Stein of 141 West Pearl, the home suffered considerable damage. The driver was not in the rig during the accident. The truck rolled down Frey Street, crossed over West Pearl and stopped part way into the house. (Sandra Marcano photo)
