Car seat inspection in Sodus

Wayne County Sheriff's Office and Wayne County Public Health will be having a child passenger seat inspection at the Sodus Fire Department on Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. Please bring the child to the event, along with his/her passenger restraint seat.

The sheriff's office will also be offering the 'Bounty Program' for people who have old child restraint seats. You can turn the restraints in for 2 free movie tickets!

The law states that any child under the age of 4 must be in a car seat. However, the National Highway Traffic and Safety Committtee recommend that children under 57 inches should be in a booster seat. The Sheriff's Office will be giving away booster seats.

These events are made possible through donations from your local Fire and Ambulance Departments, other Civic Organizations, Ames Store in Macedon, United Way, Ford Motor Corp., and state grants.
