Last year, in Dallas, Texas, $194,000 was spent to have meals delivered because of a shortage of volunteers. For that amount of money, 190 homebound people could have received meals for one year. Volunteer once a month, once a week or just on holidays - whatever you want. Chances are you'll also make a new friend and ease someone's loneliness. To find a meals on wheels program in your area, call Social Services.
