Terry Dishaw and Jackie Peets, got to give Coonradt a head shave Newark kids shoot Hoops for Heart

Newark Middle School's National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recently sponsored Hoops for Heart to raise money for the American Heart Association.

This involved students in grades six, seven and eight. They played 3 on 3 Round Robin basketball tournaments, boys and girls in separate events.

Nearly 70 boys and girls took part. They raised more than $2200, way above their goal of $1000.

NJHS co-advisor Andrew Coonradt agreed to have his head shaved if the students raised at least $1000.

clean as a whistle!For being the top fundraisers, Terry Dishaw and Jackie Peets, got to give Coonradt a head shave.

He is co-advisor with Elaine Scherbyn.
