County United Way campaign kicks off

Walworth Town Supervisor Frank Guelli, who is chairing the 2002 Wayne County United Way/Red Cross Campaign, announced a goal of $876,000 yesterday morning. The announcement was made at a breakfast held at the Garlock Training Center in Palmyra.

The efforts of United Way's annual fundraising appeal will be more important than ever as current economic conditions threaten the organization's ability to raise needed funds for local health and human service providers in Wayne County.

Businesses that have never run a United Way campaign are encouraged to do so this year. These new campaigns may make the difference for United Way as it enters its most challenging campaign to date.

For more information on running a campaign at your workplace, contact United Way's Newark office at 331.2773.
