Donate your old eyeglasses
As Spring cleaning season gets underway, Lions Clubs around the world are asking people to look through drawers and closets for old, unwanted eyeglasses (and hearing aides) and donate them to the Lions' Recycle For Sight Program.
Throughout the year, and especially during the month of May, Lions Clubs will be collecting used prescription eyewear and sunglasses as part of a unique recycling program. The glasses will be refurbished and distributed to the poor in developing countries where eye care is often unaffordable and inaccessible.
To donate used glasses, bring them to these area locations:
-
Sodus: Reed Eye Center; Country Hardware; Sodus Library; Alton Post Office;
-
Rose: North Rose Midstate; Skipper's Landing; Rose Library;
-
Clyde: Lyons National bank; Clyde Service Center; Swanson Welding; Savannah Bank NA Wolcott: Fleet Bank; Immerman Optometry;
-
Newark: Burger King; Westfall Optometry; Newark Courier-Gazette;
-
Palmyra: Breens IGA; HSBC Bank; Ontario National Bank;
-
Macedon: Pal-Mac High School; WCTA Credit Union.
