Organ recital in Wolcott

The First Presbyterian Church of Wolcott's new organ will be dedicated with a recital at 4 p.m. on Mother's Day, May 12.

A fire in August 1999 was followed by a $1 million rebuilding process. The church was rededicated July 9, 2000. The organ was constructed by the Petty-Madden Co., and had an initial dedication in December 2001 for the members of the congregation.

Thomas Marshall, who served as consultant for the organ committee, will perform this Sunday. Since 1981, Marshall has been a member of the music faculty at the College of William and Mary, where he teaches piano, organ and harpsichord performance.

Tickets for the organ recital are $5 and may be purchased at the door the day of the concert. Tickets to the organ recital and a dinner following, are $12.
