Geranium sales support young readers

Take the opportunity to beautify your property while contributing to the growth of the children.

This year, the children's room at the Newark Public Library will be the recipient of proceeds from St. Mark's annual pre-faire Geranium Sale.

Red and pink geraniums can be ordered at $2.25 each. Order forms are available at the library, or St. Mark's church office (331.3610). Orders must be in by Monday, May 13.

The geraniums may be picked up at St. Mark's 11th Annual Garden Faire on Saturday, May 18. The Faire will be held rain or shine from 10 until 3 on the front lawn of the church.

Expert and novice gardeners alike will enjoy the festive atmosphere as they shop for perennials, annuals and hanging baskets. Vendors will also have their arts and crafts for sale and there will be raffle items, including a beautiful red cedar arbor valued at over $400, hand made by a local craftsman.

Inside the church, relax in the elegant Tea Room with seating on a continuous basis from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For a donation of six dollars you will enjoy fine Earl Grey tea and a delectable assortment of scones, sandwiches and desserts.
