Newark Kiddie Parade planned

The 32nd annual Newark Kiddie Day Parade will be June 1, promptly at 1 p.m. Arrive early. This parade dates back to the days of the Jackson & Perkins Rose Parade from years ago and is open to children through 6th grade.

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Float - power drawn (adult);
  • Float - hand drawn;
  • Groups - History/Book Characters;
  • Best Boy's Costume;
  • Best Girl's Costume;
  • Best Boy's Decorated Bike;
  • Best Girl's Decorated Bike;
  • Best Decorated Tricycle;
  • TV and Movie Theme;
  • Theme of the Future;
  • Bicycle with training Wheels;
  • Miscellaneous.

Helmets required for ALL entrants 14 years and younger with bikes and trikes. Knee and elbow pads plus helmets required for ALL skaters/rollerbladers.

The parade assembles on Grant Street, proceeds to South Main Street, ending at Central Park.

Please be in line between 12:15 and 12:45 so you can be seen by the judges. Anyone arriving after 12:45 will not be eligible for judging.

Rain date is same day, inside the Community Center.

Each child must have a name tag FURNISHED BY PARENTS. Children receiving prizes must still be wearing tags.
