'Harvey' this week at Newark High Click on small photo to view larger version
Auditions were held in late September and the cast has been rehearsing ever since. Brittany LaTray (who plays the part of E.J.) says, 'The play is very time consuming but in the end it'll be worth it, however it's a great experience, I love meeting new people! It's going to be so funny, I look forward to it.' Harvey is about a man named Elwood (played by Kevin Schober) who sees a six-and-a-half-foot-tall rabbit named Harvey. His sister, Vita (Jessica Allen), tries to commit him to an insane asylum, but by admitting that she too has seen Harvey, is committed herself. Eventually, through a series of hilarious and coincidental events, the head psychiatrist, Dr. Chumley (Kelby Russell), sets out to find Elwood. In turn, he is convinced of the existence of the rabbit. At the end, the characters all end up back at the asylum, and it's up to the individual to chose whether or not there really is a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit. Choosing to believe or not is up to you, but either way, this production sounds great! Lindsay Chasse is in the cast and is the student director as well. Other people in the cast are Joe Burns, Sarah Dingman, Bree Gordon, Conor Healy, Frazier Pruitt, and Kristina Smith. Crew members include Sean Priestley, Leanne Zonneville, Baylee Balschmiter, Maggie Hallagan, Jon Diamond and Jim DeWitt. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. this Friady and Saturday, November 8 and 9, at Newark High auditorium. Tickets at the door are just $5 and $3. Photo by Sandra Marcano. Copyright
