County Coin Club welcomes students The Wayne County Coin Club invites students of area schools to attend a meeting this Wednesday, November 6. This invitation is being extended to all youths to instill interest in both numismatics and our local history and how they relate to each other. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 200 East Union Street, (Route 31), Newark. Club members are bringing some of their collections for display and there will be FREE gifts and prizes for the students. Adjournment is scheduled for 8:30. An auction of numismatic items will immediately follow the meeting. Guests are welcome to participate in the bidding. The featured speaker will be Deborah Ferrell, the Wayne County Historian. She will trace the history of the county and relate it to some of the numismatic events that have occurred in the county. Some of the Wayne County historical numismatic items available for viewing will include Bank notes used in lieu of regular dollar bills from Lyons and Sodus. Moms, dads, grandmothers, grandfathers and the rest of the neighborhood is invited to come along with the students.
