Habitat can drive this Saturday

The Wayne County Habitat for Humanity Annual Can Drive is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 to 2.

Donations of bottles and cans will be accepted at the Breen's IGA Williamson and Palmyra locations. Habitat for Humanity will have volunteers staffing the locations to assist with unloading.

Anyone wishing to donate their returnable 'for deposit' cans and bottles and is unable to drop them off at the Breen's IGA locations on that day should contact 331.7424 to arrange for a pick-up.

Habitat for Humanity is grateful to Breen's who has offered to double the refund for each returnable received during the five-hour drive, refunding ten cents per can instead of the usual five. All proceeds from the drive go into the Wayne County Habitat for Humanity house building fund.

Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County is an ecumenical Christian organization whose goal is to eliminate substandard housing one house at a time by providing simple, decent, affordable housing for God's people in need. Two houses, numbers 18 and 19, are being built now - one in Sodus and one in Wolcott.
