Folk dance and potluck this Saturday Come to Crowfield Farm on Saturday, Nov. 16 for a wonderful evening of fun and community. Ruth Hyde has traveled throughout Europe learning the Ethnic Dances native to the Eastern Countries. She shares these dances across the U.S. She has been doing international folk dancing for more than 50 years. Hyde has been three times to Bulgaria, once to Turkey and three times to Romania to study the culture and dances of the land. She became interested in dance as worship, while co-directing a dance choir in a Unitarian church. 'I often feel I am worshipping as I dance and wish to share this experience,' Hyde explained. Crowfield Farm Gray Barn is in Arcadia, 6890 Pulver Road, off Welcher. The ethnic potluck dinner is at 6 p.m. - bring an ethnic dish to pass, your place setting, a chair and your dancing shoes. The dancing will be from 7-9 p.m. with socializing afterwards. Admission is $4 person or $10 per family. Children welcome. All proceeds will support educational and inspirational events at Crowfield Farm.
