Lyons community Thanksgiving service

There will be an ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church Corner of Spencer and Jackson St. in Lyons. The service of worship is being organized by the Inter-Church Council of Lyons.

Everyone is invited to attend. The Rev. Cassandra Salter-Smith of the United Methodist Church will give the message. The hosting pastor will be Pastor Jack Bailey. There will be an ecumenical choir under the direction of Pastor Jack Bailey.

Anyone who would like to sing in the ecumenical choir is asked to meet at St. John's tomorrow night (Nov. 20) at 7 p.m. and again before the service on Nov. 27 at 6:15.

A freewill offering will help the Lyons Community Food Pantry and the Lyons Lunch Program.

They will be giving out the award for the Volunteers of 2002. Everyone is invited to bring a canned item for the two food ministries. For more information, please call St. John's Lutheran Church at 946.6748.
