Lyons Library holds raffle

The Lyons Public Library is raffling off a large wicker basket filled with Christmas goodies for its next fund-raiser. The basket is filled to the brim with Christmas candles, snowmen, Santa Clauses, books, potpourri, a small artificial Christmas tree and a beautiful stuffed dog, all dressed for winter. The basket and its contents were donated by a group of local women to help raise money for the library's building fund. Many of the items in the basket come from the Nine Pines Country Store in Newark. The basket is valued at $260. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and may be purchased at the library or at the Nine Pines Country Store, which is located at 7091 Jackson Hill Road, Newark.

The drawing will be held on Friday, December 13.
