Open House at County Museum this Sunday

The Wayne County Historical Society will hold its Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 1, from noon-5 p.m. at the Wayne County Old Jail Museum, 21 Butternut St. in Lyons.

Lyons Junior/Senior High students will entertain guests with holiday music while docents conduct guided tours throughout the former sheriff's home and attached jail.

Hazel Herdman will give a spinning demonstration in the Spinning and Weaving Room from 1-3 p.m. and Sharon Lubitow will teach stamping from 1:30-4:30.

Union Army Civil War Re-Enactors First Sgt. Donald Martens and Cpl. Chris McLellan will answer questions in the Civil War Room from 1:30-4:30.

On display in the Thomas Changing Exhibit Room is 'Wayne County's Attic,' an exhibit that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Museum being at its present location.

The Museum will be decorated for the holidays. Refreshments, donated by the WCHS Board of Directors and Zappia Vending Service, Inc., will be served to the guests.
