Apple Tasting Tour this weekend

Wayne County's Apple Tasting Tour is scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 5 and 6). There are thirteen sites participating in this year's tour - ten farm markets, one farm, one winery, and one country store.

Apple tasting is one way to learn the differences in apples including taste, texture and scent. Drive yourself from market to market and taste the different varieties and fill out the Apple Taste Test form.

The following businesses will be participating:

Masons Farm Market, located at 3135 Ridge Road West, in Williamson
Corner Market at the corner of Rte. 104 and Pound Rd., Williamson
Burnaps Farm Market, at the corner of Lake Rd. and Maple Ave., Sodus
Heluva Good Cheese Country Store on Barclay Rd., in Sodus
Alasa Farms, on Shaker Rd. in Alton
Orchard View Farm Market at corner of Ridge Rd. and Lake Bluff Road in North Rose
North Country Winery, located on Slaght Rd., Wolcott
Pine Hill Orchards Farm Market, located on Rt. 31, just 7 miles south of Rt. 104 and 3 miles north of Lyons, will not be open of Sunday, Oct. 6, so be sure to make plans to stop in there on Saturday
Maiers Mud Acres Farm Market, located at 1040 Canandaigua Rd., 1 mile south of Rt. 31, in Macedon
Long Acre Farms, on Eddy Rd., in Macedon, home of the Amazing Maize Maze
The Apple Shed, located at 3391 Maple Ridge Rd., Newark, one mile west of Fairville's Four Corners, off Rt. 88N
Hunneybear's Market & Garden Center, 4088 Park Dr., Marion
Morgan's Farm Market, Corner of Marion/Walworth & Cory Corners Road.
