Everyone at the United Church is invited to attend the potluck supper held in the Margaret Curtis Fellowship Hall on October 15 at 6:15 p.m. Murriel DeReu will present a program on crosses. Saturday, October 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the High School, there will be a 'Rotterdam Church Chorale' concert. This is a traveling choir consisting of 90 voices. This is being sponsored by the East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church in East Palmyra. Choir members live in the greater Rotterdam, Netherlands area including the historical city of Gouda. There is a need for overnight accommodations, if you can help out please call 926.4235. October 5 is 'Paint Day' for adults at the Scarlet Thread student center in Sodus. The building is four stories tall. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Grant and Meredith (McLouth) Mark on the birth of Lucas Charles on September 24. Happy grandparents are Gary and Cheryl McLouth and great-grandmothers, Thelma VanderMolen and Mildred McLouth. October 2, 1915: A large number from this place attended the Palmyra Fair Saturday. Mr. Wissick's jitney made hourly trips to Palmyra and many went on the train. Congratulations to all of the nominees for sophomore class officers. Class treasurer is Josh Weis, Secretary, Jessica Schoonerman, Vice President, Brian Rich and President, Paul Muster. Great job everyone! Marion Fire Dept. Fund Drive/ Auction is planned for October 5 at 10 a.m. Auction inside Fire Hall. Van's Auction Service, auctioneers. Lunch by the Ladies Auxiliary. Laura and Art Tierson have returned from a trip to Cape Cod, Nantucket and Maine where they traveled in celebration of their 45th Wedding Anniversary. They enjoyed the beauty of the colored leaves and were happy to have such lovely weather on their trip. 'Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, and some people wonder what happened!' Remember how it rained last Friday, after a near drought? Well, that's when we held our garage sale. There are things left in our garage. Baby clothes, books and stuff. Also a snow blower and lawn mower. Congratulations! Tomorrow is the East Palmyra Christian School Festival. 'Notice we did not get water in our basement during the last rain day!' Congratulations to Fred and Jeannette Stubenrod on the occasion of their 66th Wedding Anniversary on September 30. Ralph Meluney, guest organist at the United Church, will be heading for Florida this week. He was given appreciation for his contributions to their morning services. October 21 is the date for the Chicken and Biscuit Dinner at the United Church. I have never been able to master programming the VCR. The other day I was so frustrated when I couldn't set the 'record' before I left the house. Then I realized I was working with my portable phone!
