Everyone is busy doing last minute cleaning up the yards and putting things away. The leaves are beginning to change and fall is in the air. Not long ago, Grandpa's used to have the tee pee... Do they still have it? We'd go visit the tee pee and then watch the cider being made, then off to pick out the perfect pumpkins.

On Saturday, October l9 the Presbyterian Church in Fairville will being having a Ham and Scalloped Potato Supper from 5-7 p.m

The Intermediate School in Sodus is having some fun events... On Monday, Oct. 21, Mrs. Ludden's Class will be going on their 4th Grade field trip. Tuesday, Oct. 22 is Mrs. Sloboda's class field trip. (Field trips are always a lot of fun.) In the Primary School, there is a Girl Scout meeting in the Cafeteria at 6 p.m. This week is National Bus Safety Week.

Alasa Farms has U Pick Apples thru October 20. You can go to the farm on 6450 Shaker Rd, in Alton and pick your own apples from semi-dwarf trees. You can also enjoy a hayride, farm tours, animals , the nature trails and the gift shop. It's a great way to spend a fall weekend with the family and, when you get home, you have apples for a snack, apple crisp or some good old American apple pie. Take your camera along for fall memories.

Next Thursday, Oct. 24, the Sodus Go-Getters will meet at the First United Methodist Church for a pot-luck luncheon. All seniors are invited to come in costume. Entertainment will be Marlyse Knapp and Al Dobbin, performing and challenging you to 'Name That Tune.'

Long Acre Farms on 1342 Eddy Road in Macedon has Fall Family Fun weekends thru October 27. The Farm is open weekends only and has an array of great fun things to do. The 'Festive Fall Activities' include pumpkin land, mazes, straw tunnels, hayrides, a BBQ and much much more. The fun begins at l0 a.m.

fall flowers Mark your calendars October 26 and 27 is the Harvest Antique Show and Sale in Williamson at the High School on Rt. 21. There is a $3 donation. Open on Saturday from l0 to 5 and Sunday, l0 - 4.

Today and tomorrow are the final days of the Used Book Sale at the Williamson Library. Go today until 5 and tomorrow until 2.

October 26-27, Lukacs Pottery is having an Open House and Sale. Lukacs Studio is located on 7060 Rt. l4 in Sodus Point. You and the family can tour a working pottery studio and see how pottery is created. We went when the kids were little and enjoyed watching how pottery is created. Saturday and Sunday from l0 a.m. - 6 p.m. Also there is a gift shop with creative and beautiful creations.

Don't forget the Scarecrows are at The Apple Shed. The hayrides used to always be a lot of fun and the apples, cider and donuts are the best. Pick out a good pumpikin for the kids' Jack-o-lantern. Don't forget the Apple Shed has many gifts in the store and everything smells so good!

Another Fall Foliage Train ride this weekend, and mark your calendars for the ride on Oct. 27 - dress up in costume to ride the Halloween Express. The train rides are really fun... even if the young ones aren't interested in the leaves, it's quite a neat experience to ride a real train.

The Kraft Shack has a neat class on October 23 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. It's a Kid's Halloween Class. Bring the kids to have some fun crafting for Halloween. $12 includes all, please pre-register.

On Tuesday, October 29 from 6:30 -8:30 p.m., join the Kraft Shack for a class in Fall Pumpkin Arrangement. This arrangement is made in a pumpkin shape planter filled with beautiful silk and dried flowers, finished with a bow. $24 includes all and pre-register. (Sandy comes up with such creative and fun ideas, doesn't she?)

Looking for a scare for Halloween? The Haunted Hayrides of Greater Rochester is probably for you. Weekends in October at DeFisher Farms in Williamson. There is a full array of scary scenes and attractions, including six major attractions and over 20 additonal scenes throughout the trail. Purchase your tickets at Wegmans.
