This Saturday at the Museum Wayne County will be the topic of this Saturday's (November 2) S.A.M. Class (Saturdays at the Museum) at the Wayne County Old Jail Museum on 21 Butternut St., Lyons. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. Wayne County was founded in 1823 and named for General Anthony Wayne, a hero of the Revolutionary War. Railroads and canals encouraged the growth of the towns in the county and, today, Wayne County is noted for its unique cobblestone structures, fruit farming industry, and wonderful history. In this class, children will learn the locations of the 15 towns of Wayne County and facts about the different towns that make them unique. The fee for the class, designed for children ages 6-12, is $3 for Wayne County Historical Society members, $4 for non-members, and $1 less for additional children from same family. Prepayment for classes is required for registration. Class size is limited to ensure comfortable seating and a setting conducive for learning. Call 946.4943, Tuesday-Friday, 10-4. Copyright
