Marion Library news

By Pam Wolfanger Our wonderful summer is over, but the cool nights and crisp mornings are evidence of the waning of summer. Here at the Marion library, we are preparing for fall with books for all ages. We have many cookbooks and canning books for those preparing to put up food for the coming winter.

There are new easy chapter books for our students who are just beginning to read. For older students, we have many good novels to help you fulfill your reading contracts. Reference books will be needed for research papers. For older teens, we have lots of college catalogs and SAT and ACT preparation books.

Pre-school story time: registration for this program continues through the month. Children must be three years old by December 1 to participate in this program. You can call the library at 926.4933 or stop in to register your child. This weekly, 45-minute program will be held Tuesday mornings from 9:15-10, beginning October 1.

The Friends of the Marion Library will hold a book sale as part of the Heritage Days celebration on September 21, 9 to 3. The library will be open from 9 until noon.
