Newark native promoted to BCI

Joey Rice, formerly of Newark, has been in the New York State Police since 1995. He has been promoted to a Bureau of Criminal Investigator.

Rice is a 1984 Newark High School graduate. He and wife Wendy, and children J.P., Amber and Shane, make their home in Plattsburgh.

The Trooper's parents are Paul and Gidget Rice of Newark. He is the brother of Teddy (Jill Greene); Jeff Rice (deceased); Crystal (Mrs. John Kelley). His grandparents are Paul and Joyce Farmer of Newark and Eleanor Rice of Palmyra.
