Blood Drive in Newark

The American Red Cross Blood Services, New York-Penn Region ended its emergency appeal for blood donors.

A Newark blood drive is set for September 26 (Thursday) at the Cooperative Extension from 12:30-6:30 p.m.

There will be several high school and college blood drives this fall. Additionally, hundreds of donors gave blood in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, strengthening the regional blood supply.

When the appeal began on June 17, the Regional blood supply had dropped to just one and two-thirds days.
