Program on cobblestone architecture

Cobblestone Architecture is the topic of the October 5 Saturdays at the Museum, at the Wayne County Old Jail Museum, 21 Butternut St., Lyons. Class begins at 10:30 a.m.

Cobblestone Architecture is a unique form of folk art that was popular in the 19th century in western New York. Cobblestone masonry flourished for only about 35 years, from the mid 1820's to about 1860.

The most cobblestone structures are found within 60 miles of Rochester and there are 175 cobblestone buildings in Wayne County.

The fee for the class, for children ages 6-12, is $3 for members, $4 for non-members, and $1 less for additional children from same family. Prepayment for classes is required for registration.

Class size is limited; call 946.4943, Tuesday-Friday.
